ACB Action: Sirohi Medical College Principal Arrested in Jaipur for Bribe
Jaipur: The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Dr. Shravan Meena, Principal of Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Medical College, Sirohi, in a major bribery operation. Dr. Meena was caught red-handed accepting ₹50,000 at his residence in Jaipur.
Complaint Sparks Trap Operation
The operation followed a complaint by a contractor alleging that the principal demanded a bribe to clear pending bills for hostel construction work at the college. After verifying the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and apprehended Dr. Meena in the Raja Park area of Jaipur while he was accepting the payment.
Raid and Evidence Collection
The operation was conducted under the supervision of ACB Director General Govind Gupta. Officials raided Dr. Meena’s residence, seizing documents and records related to the alleged bribery. These materials are currently under examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
Bribe Linked to College Contract Payments
Sources confirmed that Dr. Meena exploited his position to withhold bill clearances until contractors paid bribes, highlighting systemic vulnerabilities in college administration. The ACB maintained secrecy during verification to ensure a successful trap operation.
Part of Ongoing Statewide Anti-Corruption Drive
The arrest is part of a broader statewide crackdown by the Rajasthan ACB, which has recently detained several officials for corruption across government departments. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against bribery and promised continued vigilance.
